Tahoe Ski Resorts Opening Days + More for the 2024/25 Winter Season

As we gear up for ski season, Tahoe’s ski resorts have some exciting upgrades and offerings, like more backcountry access and new restaurants! Here’s a quick guide to what’s new at some of the top resorts, along with their opening dates.
 
Sugar Bowl: Opening date: November 29 
Sugar Bowl has plans for a world-class athlete training facility. Renovations at the Village Lodge will also provide upgraded amenities. 
 
Palisades Tahoe: Opening date: November 27
In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Palisades Tahoe will offer $75 lift tickets on opening day and will be featured in Warren Miller’s film 75. The resort has invested $1.4 million in snowmaking upgrades and introduced eco-friendly snowcats. 
 
Northstar California: Opening date: November 22
Northstar introduces “My Epic Gear,” a membership program offering access to top-of-the-line gear with premium valet services. Events like Women’s Weekend and the Spring It On pond skim will return. 
 
Diamond Peak: Opening date: Early December
This season, Diamond Peak opens its backcountry terrain via a dedicated access gate at the top of the Crystal Express Chairlift. A 3-Day Flex Pass is also available for flexible skiing or riding. 
 
Heavenly: Opening date: November 22
Heavenly launches the “My Epic Gear” program for premium gear access and slopeside valet services. 
 
Mt. Rose: Opening date: November 8
Celebrating its 60th season, Mt. Rose has invested $2.2 million in upgrades, including new dining options and extended “Open Late” ski days on Fridays and Saturdays. 
 
Kirkwood: Opening date: December 6
Kirkwood introduces a new parking system for weekends and peak periods, aiming to reduce congestion. Sustainability efforts continue with enhanced waste sorting and eco-friendly initiatives. 
 
Sierra-at-Tahoe: Opening date: Early December 2024
As an Ikon Pass partner, Sierra-at-Tahoe offers even more access to its ski terrain. Snowmaking and chairlift improvements are in place, and favorite events like Subaru Winterfest are returning. 
 
Boreal / Woodward Tahoe: Opening date: November 22
Boreal celebrates its 60th anniversary with “Play Forever Fridays,” offering $25 lift tickets, with proceeds supporting local charities.
